New Mexico – Day 3

Filed under: Mason, Michael, Sarah — Tags: — gmucheeky @ 1:32 pm
Day three we went to Santa Fe. I was expecting a big city with a lot to do. I was wrong.
Think more of a western movie with a town plaza and stores around it. That’s Santa Fe.
It was really pretty and the weather was perfect.
Mason on Burro Alley.
This is the BEST pizza I have ever had! It was so good we ate the whole thing!
Rooftop Pizza in Santa Fe.

I have been dying to see some wild animals and I have been hoping to see something with horns or antlers.. This is the best I’ve seen so far.

New Mexico – Day 2

Day two took us West to Grants. I was out to see El Malpais National Park.

I forgot to tell you, we got a rental car.
This is our Dodge Magnum, it has SO much room. I love it!

Michael swears he hasn’t seen this sign until now when I am posting this.

This is us at Sandstone Bluffs.

Here is the natural arch.
Mason is a fish. Here are some cute photos and a video. He has figured out that if he kicks his legs he’ll move. It is so cute.

All that sun made us sleepy.

New Mexico – Day 1

Mason’s first flight went pretty well. We were given prescription medicine to keep him calm on the plane. It’s a sedative that has no effect on this little boy. He napped for 20 minutes on the first flight and about 10 minutes on the second flight. The whole day he got maybe 1 hour of sleep and he finally went to bed at 930, that is 1130 our time!!! He also slept through the night!!He listened to a little music…. this distracted him for about 10 minutes.
GET ME OFF THIS THING!

We had an empty seat on the second flight so he got to play with his own seat belt. Distraction time: 5 minutes….

It was a long day but we are finally here! We won’t have to deal with airplane/airport hassles for a week!

Mason fought with freshly cut grass. Look at those battle wounds.

New Mexico, are you ready for this?

We leave for Albuquerque on Wednesday.
Mason will fly for the first time!
Great Grandpa and Great Grandma, are you sure you’re ready for this monster?!?!

Mason has mastered the stairs now too. Watch out!

We have also learned how to eat Cheerios. He can’t get enough. It’s really cute too because he sits there and chews it with his gums.

It wasn’t all that warm out but Mason played in the hose anyway. This kid is a fish!

Cute Video

Filed under: Uncategorized — gmucheeky @ 10:28 pm

My cousin posted this on her blog because her boys love it so much. I had Mason watch it and he’s hooked now too. It’s cute and has a catchy little tune. We love Nickel Creek so it was cool for us to listen to also.

Mason wants to go!
He was a little fussy here because I had him do it over and over
before I got smart and went to get the camera.

I can’t believe he’s going to be 9 months in a couple weeks!
This time last year I was still pregnant! (and very ready to not be)

Travels through MD

Filed under: Uncategorized — gmucheeky @ 12:10 am

We decided to something special today and to travel to Andrew’s Air Force Base for the air show. It was free, except the gas to get there and it would be cool to see the Blue Angels flying. We were to drive to Fed Ex Field and take a shuttle to the base. We checked the website before we left to get the latest information and off we went. Michael and I are not fans of Maryland at all. We have always joked that it’s like traveling to another country. As soon as you cross the state line everything looks different, the road, the signs, everything. So this was a big deal for us to travel up there for this event. After many traffic issues we got there an hour and a half later! We were tired and ready to get out of the car. There was a cop blocking the road where we needed to go so I rolled my window down and politely asked him how we get to the shuttles. He told me that the shuttles had stopped running and the base was closed because they reached full capacity, but I could come back tomorrow. At this point I just wanted to cry, Mason was tired of being in the car and screaming at the top of his lungs. So we decided to take a side trip to Glen Echo Park to get a break from the car. We traveled the entire beltway today, that is one BIG circle! All in all it turned out ok but I am bummed we didn’t get to see the Blue Angels and I am NOT going back tomorrow.

The Mormon temple.

Glen Echo Park
Mason was not happy about the closure of the base. He wanted out of the car!

Mason rode his first carousel today. Michael took him because I get so sick going in circles. I got queasy just watching them.

It was nice to see Mason smiling after such a rough start to our trip.
